UNDERSTANDING YOUR PRESCRIPTION How do I order my glasses?It couldn’t really be simpler. Just browse through our frame selection and make your choice. Click the next step button and you will have the opportunity to customise your order. Select the colour of frame you wish to purchase by clicking the relevant button. Can I have my spectacles made into sunglasses?Yes, we can offer grey or brown tints at a small charge or why not try transition lenses which will automatically go darker in the sun. We recommend brown tints for gold or brown frames and grey for silver/pewter. We will protect your eyes against ultraviolet rays by adding a UV400 coating to all sunglasses free of charge. Do I need to send you a copy of my prescription?No, simply enter your prescription details into the relevant boxes. If you are unsure about any aspect of this process please take a look at ‘understanding your prescription’ below. If you are still not confident about this process please contact us and we will guide you through the process. During office hours you should get a reply with little delay. How do I get hold of my prescription details?Your Optician should have issued you with a copy of this after your last eye test. If you were not given this you may ask for a copy as you are entitled to it. If you were issued with a copy initially but have misplaced it your optician will supply a copy but may make a small charge. I can't order my glasses as my prescription details are not shown as an option?If your prescription falls outside the range shown it may still be possible for you to order spectacles. We may need to look at your choice of frame and prescription details before we can process your order. The reason we do this is so we can ensure you will be satisfied with your purchase. In this instance please email us your prescription and details of your frame choice and we will contact you with further information. How do I know if my lenses are going to be thick or not?The simplest way is too look at your current spectacles. If you are short sighted and the spherical part of your prescription is above –3.00 it may be worth considering thinner lenses. With + powered lenses it can also depend a lot on the frame choice. In all cases if there is any doubt over the overall appearance of the finished product we will contact you before glazing to offer our advice. What should I do if I have made a mistake in my order?Contact us immediately to advise us. As long as you contact us within 24 hours of the order being placed then we should be able to amend your order. After this time it likely the spectacles will be in the manufacturing stage. Are the lenses glass or plastic?All of our lenses are made of plastic as they are lighter and more popular. Most spectacles are currently made with plastic lenses. If you would like glass please email us and we will advise you of costs etc Can I have bifocals?Yes, simply select this option in the lens selection process. Do you offer a money-back guarantee?Yes - of course. If you are not satisfied with your glasses, please return them with the case and all packaging within 14 calendar days of receipt and we'll refund the basic cost of the glasses or if you prefer, we can exchange them for another frame making any price adjustment necessary. please see our terms and condition for our returns policy in full. Your purchase is guaranteed against manufacturing defect for 12 months from the date of purchase. In this instance please return them to us stating the problem and we will resolve any problem. This does not cover damage from accidents or misuse. If you do damage them or scrath the lenses please email us the details and we will let you the cost of repairing them. Do you supply childrens glasses?No, by law we cannot supply childrens spectacles or those to the partially sighted or registered blind. How recent does my prescription have to be?We can only fulfil prescriptions less than 2 years old. If your prescription is older than this we recommend a further eye examination to ensure your vision is kept to an optimum. Eye examinations are also an important health check and should be performed on a regular basis ( usually every 2 years) Can you put lenses in my existing lenses?Probably, as long as they are not rimless and are in serviceable condition. We should be able to make new lenses for you if you can post us the frames and a copy of your prescription. Please email us for costs. Please note that we cannot take responsibility for any damage or loss that may occur with your own frames - it is entirely at your risk.
